These pictures were taken inside Charminar. 2 little boys were following us around saying take my picture please. So Ted took there picture. Then they want to see it!
The other picture...This family were getting ready for a picture so I waited so I didn't walk in the middle of his picture. He held his camera toward me and I thought his wish was for me to take the picture so he could be in it. Then he said you be in the picture please. I told him sure, I'll be in your picture. So he was very pleased when I went to sit with his family. Everyone is interested in the foreign people. This is not an uncommon thing! Everyone stares at us the auto's try to get more money out of us. Mahi was very upset with the drivers as we went around the city because they felt it was there duty to get more money from us! They wanted 200 rupees for a 30 rupee ride. When we paid no attention to them and walked away they came down to 150 rupees. We walked a bit down the street and struck a deal with an auto for a metered ride. We ended up paying 85 rupees.
On one of the auto rides Mahi was so upset with her driver that she said, "I'm not going to put up with this. I told him to stop the auto! We agreed on 30....but we will give him 50 and not one more!! He wanted 100 rupees!! And he made us go to a shop where they sell pearls and go in and look at the jewelry! That was part of the agreement for the ride at 30 rupees.
