OK......I'm really not distressed.......There are haircut shops in India. I don't know any Americans who go there. I know some who have been there and swear they will never go back. Because the women of India wear their hair long the hair stylists do not know how to cut hair. So the sister missionaries cut their own hair. The young elders go to a barber and they look great. Elder Kasper brought his barber with him. Sister Krupp in Nigeria has her hair cut by her husband. I thought she was terribly brave. I would never let Elder Kasper touch my hair. I've seen his haircuts and know better. If any of you have forgotten or don't know what I am talking about you can ask Chris. He can give you a first hand account of why I won't let Elder K. touch my hair. So we brought our hair cutting scissors and I am my own hairstylist and I am getting by. I can't say it's the best haircut I've ever had but I don't hate myself. Yet!!!!
Elder Kasper laughs at me because I cut my hair at least 2-3 times a week. Hair and fingernails grow faster in India. And that's the truth!!! If any of you are my friends you will tell me if I need to get a bag and put it on my head!!! Truthfully the curly hair and humidity make up for a bad haircut. I suppose my hair would actually be a hairstylists nightmare.

Hi Sis. Kasper
I am so glad that I found this blog, let me explain. I live in Houston, TX and work for Shell. There is a better than average chance that my family and I will move to Bangalore at the end of the year. We have five children, 3 girls 11, 8 and 5 and two boys 3 and 1. I don't have a lot questions about living in India (I have surfed the web and talked with people who are living over there, plus working for a big company I know I will get taken care of really well.
However, finding out about the church over there has been a little harder. I am really interested in the youth over there (as my girl will be turning 12 this year) are there many youth (I know these are branches but the pictures of youth conference buoyed my spirits, probably youth from 3 different cities though) we would be living in the Whitefield area near the airport.
Are there any 'westerners' members in Bangalore that you know off?
And lastly we really want to try and organize some
charitable donations from over here (work, church and community) to take with us (I think I can get Shell to fork the shipping costs) to India. Kind of a dowry of sorts for the people sharing the country with us for the next 4 years (plus Karma is a big deal over there). So what kind of things do they need most (long list I am sure). We will never know what we can accomplish if we never try, right.
Well, like I said there is a better than average chance that we will actually move to Bangalore but nothing is certain right now; however, I will almost 100% be going to Bangalore around September for 1-2 months so if its ok with you we could catch up then :)
