Dedication Ceremony

Part of the dedicatory service is washing the place to be dedicated, breaking a coconut, sprinkling the coconut milk over the spot, and placing the broken halves of the coconut on top along with flowers and paint. They also paint the inside of the coconut. Then everyone must have the red dot in the middle of their forehead. Last but not least the dedicatory prayer.



Here Elder Kasper has made a perfect break in the coconut. The native village people are usually amazed that 2 white men know how to perform this sacred ritual.
